For more than six decades, Walkerville Junior Football Club (WJFC) has been a nurturing ground for young talent, fostering a love for the game and creating a community of passionate footballers. Established in 1961, the club has been a vital part of Adelaide’s sports scene, providing a feeder system to the Walkerville Football Club, SANFL, and even the AFL. With no fewer than 39 premierships since 1971, our teams have a proud history of success.

Today, the club has grown to over 450 players, ranging from Under 7 to Under 18, with 24 junior teams for both boys and girls. We run an AFL Auskick program for children aged 6 and under, ensuring a steady pipeline of future talent.

The success of WJFC is built on a strong foundation of core values: teamwork, respect, and integrity. These principles guide everything we do, from our training sessions to match days, ensuring that every player not only develops their skills but also learns the importance of sportsmanship and being a good club person.

In 2023, WJFC was proud to receive the SANFL Juniors Award ‘Club of the Year’. This prestigious award recognises the efforts and support of our players, committee, coaches, team managers, and families. Our Premierships & Honor Board showcases the champions and legends who have left their mark on our storied past, serving as inspiration for future generations of players.

WJFC is proudly affiliated with SANFL Juniors, the premier competition for boys’ and girls’ footy in metro Adelaide. If you’re aged between 7 and 17 and want to play club football, National Pharmacies SANFL Juniors offers over 55 clubs and 700 teams, making it easy to join more than 13,500 young South Australians enjoying the game every weekend. This affiliation provides a pathway from local club football to semi-professional SANFL and ultimately to the professional AFL.

WJFC is more than just a football club; it is a community. We take great pride in our engagement with the local community, hosting various events and initiatives that bring people together. Our annual Junior Footy Carnival and club fundraisers are just a few examples of how we foster a sense of belonging and community spirit.
